Ingredients for making Bombay Karachi Halwa
- Cornflour - 100gm
- Sugar - 450gm
- Ghee - 4 tsp
- Cashews - 1/4 cup chopped
- Pistachios - 1/4 cup chopped
- Almonds - 1/4 cups chopped
- Cardomom Powder - 2 tsp
- Lemon juice - 1 tsp
- Water - 2 cups
- Food color - 1 tsp
- First, add little water to the cornflour and mix until all lumps get dissolved
- Add all the water to the cornflour mixture
- Take sugar in a pan and add 3/4 cup water. cook the syrup until all sugar gets melted
- Add cornflour mix to the sugar syrup and stir continuously.
- After 10 min the halwa starts to get thick.
- Add lemon juice
- Cook on low flame.
- When halwa becomes transparent add ghee to the halwa and stir until the ghee gets mixed and absorbed in halwa properly
- Add some food color to the halwa and mix properly
- Add all the chopped nuts and cardamom powder to the halwa and cook
- Wait for 4-5 minutes and turn off the stove
- Pour the halwa to a container which is greased by some ghee and level it up
- Keep it aside for an hour
- After one hour cut it into pieces, and enjoy
Easy and delicious Bombay Karachi Halwa is ready. You can store it in an airtight container.
Suggestions :
- When you mix the cornflour to the sugar syrup, Stir continuously until it gets a smooth and silky texture
- Make sure that there are no lumps in the cornflour mixture.
- Add some chopped nuts on the top
- Add the color of your choice to make it attractive
